Beeeeeeeer!!!!

Episode 10: I took notes so you didn’t have to….We talked about the following in this episode….Beer, Beer and more Beer! Our guests are the guys from 603 Brewery in Londonderry, NH.

I love beer. I love a good beer on a beach with sand in my toes and a spicy fish taco, well any taco for that matter. Beer has changed so much over the years. As a kid my dad would take me and my little brother once a year to the Anheuser-Busch brewery in the next town over from us so we could see the Clydesdale horses, do the tour and he could get free beer. We went every year like clock work. I can still smell the smells of the brew floor and I remember we ate pretzels and drank as much soda as we could while he was drinking beer. So my love affair of beer and breweries started at a very young age.

How to chill beer quickly and where to store beer you aren’t going to share with me now….

It’s super easy! Get a bucket, bowl, tub whatever, fill it with ice, some water and salt. Don’t forget the salt. The salt is what does all the work and magic for you. Plunge the beer into the icy, salty water and 15 minutes later COLD BEER!

And if you want to store beer, which again I think you should just drink it with the people you love but if you have to store it. Keep it in a cool, dark place that stays around 45 - 55F degrees.

Cooking and Pairing with Beer:

Rather than me listing a million combos of how to pair beer with food. I found this great chart/cheat sheet that explains it all really well.

Let’s talk about cooking with beer. Here’s a handful of recipes that you should try with some tasty beer! You can put beer in so much more than chili and mussels!

Our guests are from the 603 Brewery in Londonderry, NH. If you live in the area I highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t already. Their beer hall is open and they have these incredible outdoor igloos that you can reserve to enjoy some great beers and snacks. Right now you can find their beer all over NH, in some parts of MA and I bet in the very near future many many more places. Check out their beer finder here and if you like spiked seltzer theirs is the best!

Now go forth and cook some amazing food!!
